Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc. (EBI) was founded in 1971 as a manufacturer of chemical plant sundries products (Darworth Division) and fibrillated yarns (Film Fibers Division). It is also the parent company of such diverse subsidiaries as The Ensign-Bickford Company, a manufacturer of explosive initiators, and Ensign-Bickford Realty Corporation, a developer of business and office parks and Ensign-Bickford Aerospace and Defense Company (EBA&D). EBA&D provides innovative ordnance intiation systems for the aerospace and defense industries.
